StockPodium aims to assist contributors in marketing their photo collections and customers in easily discovering the desired photos, enabling all parties to concentrate on what they do best – to create!

StockPodium is a stock images marketplace that makes searching for stock images easy and fast by using intuitive filters and advanced visual similarity and semantic technologies. To assist customers in finding the right images we have implemented an image analysis technology that discovers similarity in color and shape. There are several ways to use the visual search on StockPodium: uploading a query (example) image from a computer, submitting the URL of an image that is available online or simply using one of the images from a native key word search query. Further more, we offer semantically enhanced text search and advanced filter options to narrow and refine search results. Users have at their disposal a vast collection of images and power tools to find the right picture in a fun and timely fashion.

From the photo contributor’s point of view, one of the main issues they face when uploading images to stock-photo sites is tagging. Sales levels are highly dependent on the quality of the tags assigned to the pictures. Some people are good in tagging, others not so much. That’s why just being a good photographer is not enough to sell successfully in keyword-related stock image websites. StockPodium’s approach is a bit different. We are not going to stop using key words for tagging images. But we are going to make it way easier by offering contributors highly matching tags for the uploaded images using TaggRe technology – automated keyword suggestion based on visual similarity.

The public beta of StockPodium was publicly launched in December 2009 in Bulgaria. We have managed to aggregate and index more than 5,300,000 stock images form Fotolia, Dreamstime, 123RF, and FeaturePics. The index continues to grow by the days.
